Kickstarter Projects to Check Out (edition 1)

I've become a real fan of Kickstarter in the last few months.  Thanks to TA Pratt (the author of the Marla Mason novels) I found out about the site and have been addicted ever since.  I've back about 20 projects since about 8 months ago--books, music, live performance, food and movies.  I think its important to encourage creative minds like these folk--to be a part of the process and know that you put $20 or $50 or $100 towards helping someone achieve their goals and dreams.

These are some of the projects I'm backing currently, my thanks to John Scalzi who is hosting a Promote Your Kickstarter Project Thread on his blog "Whatever" today!  Check it out and see if anything tickles your fancy!

Novels -

Faerie Blood and The Warlock's Curse are two projects by authors that not only do I love, but who's books I adore.  Actually Faerie Blood I reviewed a few years ago when it was still part of the Drollerie Press imprint--to finally be able to read the sequel is wonderful.  And I can't wait to read the sequel to The Hidden Goddess and The Native Star.  I was hopping around Hobson's blog to find out when it was due out and found out about this!

As for Tales of the Emerald Serpent...I grew up on shared world fantasy series.  Thieves' World, the Crafter family anthologies, the Bordertown books--I loved them.  So when I saw this project, being kickstarted by the editor of Black Gate Magazine (a fantasy fiction magazine) I more or less fell on top of it.

Games -

Jane Jensen - she's the creator of my father's and I's favorite point and click adventure/mystery/puzzle game series ever Gabriel Knight.  My dad and I pored over these three games for HOURS on end.  We loved them.  We wanted more of them.  We recently tried to re-play them (our computers are too 'new' for these games).  So this was a no-brainer.

Echoes of Eternia and Republique are both more or less--oh this sounds great!  Though in Republique's case I don't think I'll be able to play it...but I really want the extras.  They look SUPER cool.  Echoes of Eternia remind me of the side scroll, dungeon crawling jRPG's I played in my younger days.

All else -

First how cool is that library tote?  I want to carry it with me for Book Expo! :D  Dust looks really cool--its a web-series and well...it looks and sounds awesome.

Little known fact I adore the Zenescope books to death.  Yes even the scantily clad women artwork.  So they want to make an animated series and oh hey look Queen Cersi I mean Sarah Connor dammit LENA HEADEY is going to voice Sela!!!!  Dude. Seriously.  Everyone make that happen for me.

Have you guys backed anything interesting lately?  Give a shout out!
