#BEA14: 5 Unusual (for me) Books to Consider

My three main reading genres are historical romance, fantasy and manga.  When BEA comes around that's where my main priorities lie.  This year, as in previous years, I've noticed a trend of other genre'd books that I find myself curious about.  This is an accounting of those books.

The Palace of Illusions by Kim Addonizio
This is a short story and poetry collection from Addonizio that ranges from fairy tale to drama to every age in between.  I've never read Addonizio, but the description caught me and I found myself wanting to know what her writing was like.

Into the Grey by Celine Kiernan
Technically this fits into my preferred genres, and I loved Kiernan's "Moorehawk Trilogy" but this sounds more thriller/horror then paranormal and I'm not terribly fond of ghosts.  They rank up there with Angels for me--its a while for me to cozen to the idea.  However I love Kiernan and honestly I can't wait to check this out.
