So here's my week...a little bit later then normal, but I was in BOSTON for the weekend meeting with school folk and hanging with friends. So. Yeah.
The House of Shadows by Rachel Neimeier - I ended up not enjoying this so much...its a rare instance of the story could have been split amongst a longer series I think
Embers and Echoes by Karsten Knight - I was less happy w/certain folk in this book then the other BUT I really wanna know what hell Ashline brings down on those same folk in Afterglow
Existence by Abbi Glines - I've wanted to read this for a while, but for some reason hesitated. Anyhow, enjoyable! Pagan isn't as unfortunate as I feared she may be.
Predestined by Abbi Glines - I'm gearing up for book 3 (Ceaseless)'s soon(ish) release. I was a bit..hmm unhappy with the change in circumstances for one of the characters (Leif) and introduction of another (Jay)
Leif by Abbi Glines - set before/during/after Existence and Predestined, we get all those key moments from his point of view thanks to his changed circumstances. It made me understand and feel more content with Predestined honestly, so good job author Lady!
Wallflower by Catherine Gayle - oh how I wanted to love this book. I really did. 29 year old spinster who isn't necessarily looking for a husband and is okay with her life. Except she really isn't. My review is on Goodreads for it.
Succubus Lost by Tiffany Allee - I enjoyed Banshee Charmer a lot, though had reservations about this book since I'm not a fan of Succubi by in large. Marisol was engaging in BC though, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm glad I did, Marisol was much more then 'Sex in Heels'.
The Quantum Thief by Hannu Rajaniemi - weeeeiiiirdddd but so far FUN.
Slayer's Kiss by Cassi Carver - I was excited for this one! I don't know if I'm just less intrigued bc I can see where its going already or if I'm a bit tired of the 'we just met!' sex, but I'm iffy on it so far.
None. I go away and folk forget I exist!
Won or Bought: (links lead to goodreads unless otherwise noted)
Bought from Amazon:
Short-Straw Bride by Karen Witemeyer - I really enjoy her books, so I figured I'd give this a whirl too!
The Pirate Next Door by Jennifer Ashley - I by in large enjoy her historical romances so I figured I'd give this a shot
Free from Amazon:
Long Night Moon by SM Reine - this is the third book of a quartet I have wishlisted.
Whispering Hills by Taryn Brown - sounded kind of cool!
Roanoke: The Lost Colony by Angela Elwell Hunt - one of my favorite historical mysteries, so of course I want.
Cold Kiss by Amy Garvey - I haven't gotten around to reading this yet, but my sister enjoyed it so I figured why not?
Embers and Echoes by Karsten Knight - all right I won't lie I saw that it was popping up early in the Boston B&N's and was like 'I'll be in Boston!' and made it my mission to find a copy (And I did. I win).
Gwendolyn and the Underworld by Bill Robinson - I bought two signed copies, one for my cousins (who are beginning Kindergarten!!) and one for a special girl's 2nd birthday coming up
Note to the Unwary - I really want to move to Boston. Someone make this happen.
Lesson Learned This Week - The Marriott in Back Bay Boston, is filled with international folk. I heard no less then 12 different languages, spoke with at least 7 different nationalities, ate with at least 3 for various meals and learned a whole bunch about how foreign folk view traveling in America.
