PR Special Edition (50): Patricia Eimer Interview

Poisoned Rationality Special  Edition

Welcome to another Poisoned Rationality Special Edition!   Today we have Patricia Eimer, author of the recently released Luck of the Devil answering some questions.

Synopsis:  Being the youngest daughter of the Devil isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Teenage rebellions and vows of chastity made just to upset dear old Dad are long in the past, and now all Faith wants is a nice, quiet life and a week-long vacation spent watching reruns. Unfortunately, thanks to the unexpected arrival of her demonically-downsized sister, a ditzy succubus roommate, and a surprise visit from dear old dad, those hopes seems to be going up in flames.

Now it’s all Faith can do to keep the family reunion from Hell (literally) under wraps and the angelically-inclined hottie across the hall from realizing there’s something weird about his neighbor. And, thankfully, it’s working. Until an angelic stalker shows up in a bid to steal her powers and take over the world. Forget watching reruns, with the way things are going, Faith will need the luck of the Devil just to survive until work next Monday.

Patricia thank you for being with us today at Poisoned Rationality!
Can you tell us a little bit about the genesis for Luck of the Devil?
Luck of the Devil is literally about the family reunion from Hell. The Devil's youngest daughter, Faith, is trying to live a normal life and crushing on her neighbor across the hall when her entire demonic family shows up and begins causing trouble. Now she's got to try to keep everything under control and just make it till Monday morning.
The Morningstar-Bettincourt family dynamic is...unique to say the least.  Will Tolliver's mother be making an appearance in future volumes?  Are there other siblings hanging around ready to make Faith's life madcap?
Tolliver is actually a major character is book 2 and I have definite plans for him in book 3. Let's just say I'm going to get the last laugh on that particular demon before the series ends. As far as other siblings, in my world the Devil isn't a politician -- he doesn't have secret love children stashed away anywhere else. There's just Faith, Hope and Tolliver.
Despite their bickering, threats and sulky fits of being slighted Tolliver, Faith and Hope are all really close right?
They are exceptionally close. One of my critique partners actually compared their bond to more of soldiers in the trenches than family. They've shared things that no one else can understand and that's made them very tight with each other.
If Tolliver offered to give you anything you wanted in exchange for your soul, what would you ask for?
Oh, I've never been asked that before. Let's see, could I have a nice, long, successful writing career that sells lots of books and throw in there that I never run out of ideas?
Is Roison really as dipsy oblivious as she pretends to be?
Yes, Roisin is actually based on a friend of mine's mom and we always used to wonder if she really was that dippy and one day we realized that yes, she really was that dippy.

Quick Q's
Cake or pie? Cake, preferably made out of ice cream.
Worst fashion sin you've committed?  I tried the pleather Hot Topic goth look for a while. It was just too much work for me though so I never actually managed to get it to work out like all the cool kids. I was sort of an imposter goth.
Favorite quote? "Do or do not, there is no try" ~Yoda
Best trait a guy could have? A sense of humor.

Patricia thank you again for being on Poisoned Rationality--I for one can't wait to see what the future holds for Faith after the lovely bomb her parents dropped in her lap at the end...
